Police received a call at 6:29 a.m. Wednesday, reporting that there was a burglary in progress on Moanauli Loop in the Seaview Estates subdivision. Responding officers passed a sports-utility vehicle towing a trailer loaded with appliances while responding and made a traffic stop.
The driver, Gulliver Brown, 41, of Pahoa, was arrested on outstanding bench warrants and was charged with two counts of contempt of court. The passenger, James Lancaster, 29, also of Pahoa, was arrested on outstanding bench warrant and charged with contempt of court and violating the terms of release while out on bail.
Investigators determined the appliances in the trailer belonged to the man whose home had been burglarized.
On Thursday, Brown was charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree theft, driving without a license, driving without insurance and fraudulent use of license plates. His bail was set at $21,500.
Lancaster was charged with first-degree burglary and second-degree theft. His bail was set at $20,000.
